Thanks Curt, I actually thought of you when I was working on these. Yes, I too thought that it seemed as if the sparrow(?) was collecting nesting materials and I was confused by this. Do they build nests in the fall?
Not that I know of, Arati. I thought maybe you had taken the photo earlier. They may be seeds, which are long and skinny. It could be they are using the nest for a winter resting area. –Curt

Yeah, I enjoyed watching it too and was confused by what I was seeing. Was it collecting nesting material? I didn’t think they did this in October.
