California dreaming

“California dreaming on such a winter’s day…”
 the Mamas and the Papas

Far away, in a distant past
somewhere in the 60’s
their voices
the music
playing
loud and clear
now.

  1. Lovely image, Arati. Interesting features. That’s a huge bonfire! Great in black and white.

    • Thank you Patti. I see these as archetypal structures inspired by dwellings Indigenous People have been building throughout the ages. People of all ages like to go and sit in these. Children love to explore and play in them. They pop up in different areas along the coast after storms. It seems like a tradition in Capitola, and then, at some point, all the driftwood that the rivers carried down to the ocean disappears….

  2. I’ve always loved the way people create structures out of driftwood on the coast! And the Mamas and the Papas. Thanks. –Curt
