Capitola Wharf: An old friend – then and now

A reconstructed wharf
its newness foreign
wide
bare
held up by pilings
old and new

Ghosts of lost familiar eateries
caught in a winter storm
hover with nowhere to land
amidst fragmented memories
and fisherfolks patiently waiting
