   Fascinating. Are the pine cones really green? If so, is that what they look like when they are little…i.e. being born!

     Yes they are green. When they are born they are tiny.
     I posted a photo back onSept. 2, 2015 of a branch with lots of little pine cones. The photo came out a bit dark yet I like the feeling of gestation/incubating I get from this. Interestingly when the winds came up in the winter all the small green pine cones on that branch fell off. I noticed a couple of days ago that a new crop is coming in. Time for some new photos 🙂
