  Yes Curt, this pier is an old friend with whom I have shared some very joyous and sad moments.
  I long to once again walk the length of this old pier, to hear the sounds of vehicles slowly rumbling by, and to watch people leaning over the railings as they keep tabs on their fishing poles All this under the watchful eyes of seagulls.
